Thanks for the memories Your first trackside announcer.George Hewitt. this turned out to be the best ever deal in car racing at the time.I had the two owners travel with me to check out other tracks in Michigan.dust control etc. I remember most of the early drivers and with Jonny Banks at my side we founded the stockcar drivers association.There were three bidders with Charly Smith, Frank Dayus and the winner. Checker Flag.I remained with the racing program at Checker Flag for a couple of years I also remember the track owners two very young boys who would follow me, Deni and Herman the two owners, as we talked about the pit area and what was needed for the drivers and crews and the grandstands. We were able to keep all monies from the pit area and also shared a percentage in the general admissions, etc.
do any of those early Checker Flag race drivers remember me? I set up and negotiated the very first driver contract with Checker Flag.
